For about as long as I can remember, performing music on a tour has been my number one, all time greatest desire. I would dream about it often for long periods of time. Whenever I have down time - to this day - during long drives in the car, waiting at the doctor’s office, drifting off to sleep - I imagine myself on tour. No joke.
That’s probably why, when I started writing my neoclassical compositions 8 years ago, I never envisioned them living their life only in a studio. Recording always felt like a means to an end for this music. It was written to be performed. In fact, I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to think about this catalogue as being finished until it’s had a life on stage.
So it goes without saying, I’m EXCITED!
I’m excited to announce my first batch of real, ticketed, headlining shows!

The Shows
The first show’s coming up real quick - June 29th in Rochester, NY, at 75 Stutson Street. If you’re in the area, please come out! Invite your friends/family/coworkers! I’ll be performing in a beautiful room on a grand piano! You can get more info and tickets here:
The second show will be in Ithaca, NY, on July 20 at The Downstairs. This is a $10 cover/PWYC event. More info here:
From there, I’ll be doing shows in…
Brooklyn, NY | Shapeshifter | July 24
Providence, RI | Fringe Festival | July 26-27
North Andover, MA | Merrimack College | September 18
More details about these last three are still forthcoming.
Possibly More
My manager (shoutout to the incredible Jesse Corcoran-Michaels!) and I are still working on some more dates, so there might be even more to announce in the coming months.
Consequently, if you’re in this region and would like to host a show or connect us with a venue you’re familiar with, please reach out to me and/or my manager (jesse@zasprmedia.com).
About the Shows
These shows are gonna be really special. In the lead up to my first album, they’re kind of a preview of what’s coming and a workshop for what’s coming after that. I have ideas for the music that can only be worked out in a live setting. Of course, the songs are written, but I’m purposefully building into the shows lots of room for experimentation and discovery. No show will be the same. It’s like the songs, and the experience of them, will continue to be written together with an audience in a particular room at a particular time. Who knows what will come of all this by the end of this year? I can’t wait. I feel like I was born for this.
And Then…
All of this will culminate in a big album release show on November 9 here in my hometown, Scranton, PA. I’m not gonna share much about that now but it’s gonna be a big deal.
So, if you’re near one these areas, please consider coming out and inviting friends/family/coworkers! If you’re an email subscriber, new info/links will be sent directly to your inbox. Or you can find up-to-date info on my website (zachsprowls.com) and socials as well.
awesome!!
Holy cow! Congratulations on working to make this literal dream of yours a reality! Can't wait to hear you eventually process how the tour shaped the forthcoming album; that's a very interesting idea to me...! I hope being on tour lives up to what you're hoping to get from it!
