A few years ago I too realized that "making content" to "promote your music" is not something that is really helping. It's just another thing one has to do, and it is a full time job, so I decided that it was not worth it.

Putting up flyers at the local grocery store is actually better, but not as good as back when people would actually look at them :P

So, as someone who gave up, I support your effort :)

Hopefully it was the content making you gave up and not the music!

Not to be a bummer, but I am sorry to say I gave up both :P

I do have creative outlets that make me happy though, so I am actually fine :)

I will of course do music publicly again if I ever find a way to make it work in the current reality, but for now I have no ideas on what that would look like. So if you ever crack that code, let me know :)

Nothing wrong with having other creative outlets. I think if you ever wanted to make music again you’d have to get to the point that you’re gonna make it whether anyone hears it or not. That’s why I say I’d rather have no music career at all than to keep playing the social media game. My terms or no terms and I truly mean it.

Hi Zach... when you figure out how to get the audience for your website please let us know the secret! BTW I use Bandzoogle and really like it....just sold tickets for a record launch right on my site: suterry.com. Also, do you know the drummer Marko Marcinko? I believe he's from Scranton. Used to play with him when I lived in the Poconos.

I don't think it's a secret, but I'll for sure share what's working for me! I've been using Bandzoogle the last couple years. No complaints. It's perfect for most musicians. I just want to do much more than Bandzoogle is capable of doing and have more control over some of the features. And potentially smaller fees.

I do know Marko! I actually know his brother, Pat, much better and have played with him a few times. Marko is pretty busy now and sticks to jazz, so I haven't gotten to play with him. The Marcinkos are an institution around here!

Solid! Keep me posted! I don't know Pat but if you see Marko say hi for me ;-)

I have similar big ass website dreams. Have you heard of FluentCRM? It’s a WP plugin that lets you send emails right from your web builder. No need for 3rd party email. I’m down to stay connected about this as we build out!

It looks pretty incredible. They don’t have an integration with Shopify though. I’m pretty loyal to Shopify, but maybe it’s worth dealing with Woocommerce if I can keep everything in one place. I’ll look into it. Thanks for suggestion! Let’s definitely stay connected.
